Home service marketing agency

A Home Service Marketing Agency Built Around Booked Jobs.

Route Builder Media is a marketing agency for HVAC, plumbing, pest control, junk removal, roofing, and other home service companies. We run SEO, Google Ads, and Google Business Profile work, build the website and tracking behind them, and report on what actually matters: calls answered, jobs booked, and what each one cost. You get a small, focused team and straight answers.

The short answer

What Does a Home Service Marketing Agency Actually Do?

If you are comparing agencies, start with what the job is.

A home service marketing agency gets your phone ringing with the jobs you want, from the areas your crews can reach, at a cost per booked job that leaves you a profit. In practice that means running your local SEO, Google Business Profile, and Google Ads; making sure the website turns visits into calls; and tracking each call and form back to the job it became.

The difference from a general agency is what gets measured. A general agency reports clicks, impressions, and leads. A specialist should be able to tell you cost per booked job by service and area, how many calls went unanswered, and which campaigns your margin can actually support. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

Fit

Who We Work With, and Who We Don’t.

You would rather know this now than three months into a retainer.

A good fit

Owner-operated home service companies that want more of the right work

From a single truck to multi-crew operations. Our deepest published work is in HVAC, pest control, plumbing, and junk removal, and we also work with roofing, electrical, tree service, landscaping, moving, dumpster rental, pressure washing, and general contracting.

  • You know roughly what an average job is worth and can share it
  • Someone answers the phone, or you are willing to fix that first
  • You have capacity for more work, or will within a season
  • You want reporting on booked jobs, not a dashboard of clicks

Probably not a fit

Situations where hiring any agency, including us, is the wrong move

We would rather tell you this on the first call than take a retainer we know will disappoint you.

  • Crews are fully booked for months and you cannot add capacity
  • Calls regularly go to voicemail and nobody plans to change that
  • You want guaranteed rankings or a guaranteed lead count
  • You want lead volume at any quality, sold by the lead

Services

What We Actually Handle for You.

Most companies need two or three of these, not all eight. The audit decides which.

Google Ads & Local Services Ads

Campaigns split by job type and urgency, negative keywords that block DIY and out-of-area searches, bids set by job value. Google Ads management.

Google Business Profile

Categories, services, photos, and a review process your techs will actually follow, for map pack visibility. Profile optimization.

Websites & landing pages

Fast mobile pages where calling you is the easiest thing to do. We build them for you. Home service websites.

Call & lead tracking

Tracking numbers, form tracking, and booked-job outcomes recorded, so every channel is judged on jobs rather than clicks.

Lead-response automation

Missed-call text back, instant form replies, and estimate follow-up, so paid leads are not lost to a voicemail box. AI automation.

Meta Ads

Facebook and Instagram for seasonal pushes and discretionary work, inside the neighborhoods your routes cover. Meta Ads.

AI search visibility

Clear answers, consistent business facts, and valid structured data, so AI assistants can name you. AI search visibility.

Where to start

SEO or Google Ads First?

Google Ads buys demand today. SEO earns it for years. What is broken decides the order.

How we usually sequence the first 90 days. Your audit may say otherwise.
Your situationUsually start withWhy
Trucks idle this monthGoogle Ads + Business ProfileAds can produce calls within days of launch; SEO cannot. The profile is free and supports both.
Ad costs rising every yearSEO & local SEOEvery job you win organically is a job you did not pay a click for. It compounds; ads stop the day you stop paying.
Invisible in the map packGoogle Business ProfileUsually the highest-leverage fix in home services, and it costs nothing per click.
Lots of leads, few booked jobsTracking + lead responseIf calls go unanswered or estimates are never followed up, more traffic just buys more missed jobs.
Traffic but no callsWebsiteA slow page, a hidden phone number, or a long form loses visitors the ads already paid for.
New company, no reviews, small budgetProfile + reviews, then a tight Ads campaignSpend where it can be measured quickly and build the trust signals SEO will later depend on.

Measurement

Why We Report Booked Jobs, Not Clicks.

A cheap lead that never books is the most expensive thing in your marketing.

Cost per click and cost per lead tell you what you paid for attention. Cost per booked job tells you what you paid for revenue. The two can point in opposite directions: a campaign producing cheap leads for small one-off jobs can look great on a lead report and lose money, while a campaign producing fewer, pricier leads for replacements and recurring plans pays for itself several times over.

So before spend scales, we set up the chain: tracking numbers on every channel, form tracking, call recording where you want it, and a simple way to mark which calls became booked jobs. Then each campaign is judged on cost per booked job against what a job is worth to you, using your average ticket, booking rate, and close rate. If you want to run that math first, use the cost per lead calculator.

The measurement chain we set up before spend scales: each step from search to revenue is recorded, so campaigns are judged on booked work.
Speed to lead

Why it sits next to the ads.

A homeowner with a problem calls down the list until someone answers. Answer rate and response time decide how much of your ad spend turns into jobs, so we report them, and fix them with automation where that is cheaper than more spend.

Pricing and terms

What It Costs, and What You Own.

Month-to-month

No long-term contract. We would rather keep clients because the numbers work than because a contract says they have to stay.

You own the accounts

Google Ads, Business Profile, Analytics, tracking numbers, and the website are in your name. If we part ways, you keep everything and lose nothing.

Straight communication

Plain-English reporting, quick answers, and recommendations you can follow. No hand-offs between departments.

How agency pricing works in general, and how to tell whether it is worth it: what a home service marketing agency costs.

Getting started

How the Audit and Onboarding Work.

Nothing gets signed before anybody has looked at anything.

  1. Free growth audit

We review your website, local rankings, Google Business Profile, ad account if you have one, and how quickly inquiries get answered. You get told what we found, including what is already fine, and you keep the findings whether or not you hire us.

  2. A short call about the business

We ask the questions the audit cannot answer: which jobs you want more of, what they are worth, how many you can take on, and where your crews can realistically get to.

  3. A recommendation with a price

Usually the smallest set of work that fixes the biggest constraint. Sometimes that is one service. Sometimes it is “fix your phones first”, and we will say so.

  4. Access and tracking

You grant us access to accounts in your name, or we create them in your name. Tracking goes in before any budget scales, so the first month already produces usable data.

  5. Launch, then monthly reviews

Campaigns and pages go live in priority order. Each month you get plain-English reporting: calls, booked jobs, cost per booked job, and what we are changing next.

What we need from you

Information That Decides the Strategy.

We do not recommend anything until we know these. Neither should any other agency.

Average ticket by job type

Repair versus replacement, one-off versus recurring plan. It sets how much a lead is worth bidding for.

Booking and close rate

Roughly how many calls book, and how many estimates close. Estimates are fine to start.

Service area and route density

Where your crews can reach profitably, and where you would rather not drive.

Crew capacity and seasonality

How much more work you can take, and when demand spikes or goes quiet.

How calls are answered

Who picks up during jobs, after hours, and on weekends. This is often the cheapest thing to fix.

Current spend and history

What you have tried, what it cost, and what you think it produced. Access to old accounts helps.

Specialist vs generalist

What a Specialized Home Service Agency Does Differently.

A general agency can run your ads. A specialist knows which of your jobs are worth running them for.

Questions to Ask Any Home Service Marketing Agency.

Including us. A good agency answers these without hesitating.

Whose name are the accounts in?

If the answer is the agency's, you are renting your own marketing history.

What will you report on every month?

Look for booked jobs and cost per booked job. Be wary of a report that stops at leads.

What is the contract term?

Long lock-ins protect the agency, not you. Ours is month-to-month.

Who will actually do the work?

Ask to meet them. With us, the people you talk to are the people doing the work.

Do you work with my competitors?

We do not take on two directly competing companies in the same market for the same service.

What would you not do for us?

An agency that says yes to everything is selling, not diagnosing.

The full checklist, red flags, and what a good monthly report looks like: how to choose a home service marketing agency.

Where we work

Nationwide, With Eight Markets We Know Closely.

We work with home service companies across the United States, remotely. We pay closest attention to eight markets: Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, and Greensboro in North Carolina, and Waco, Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth in Texas. Each market page explains what competing there actually looks like.

We do not have offices in those cities and do not claim to. Campaigns are always built around the areas your crews actually cover, wherever that is.

Building homes rather than servicing them?

Builders need different work: communities, floor plans, inventory, and sales cycles measured in months. See our home builder marketing agency page.

Questions

Questions Owners Ask Before Hiring Us.

What is a home service marketing agency?

An agency that specializes in marketing for companies that work in or on people's homes, such as HVAC, plumbing, pest control, junk removal, roofing, and electrical. It runs local SEO, Google Business Profile, Google Ads, and usually the website and tracking, and it should measure success in booked jobs rather than clicks or leads.

How much does Route Builder Media charge?

Pricing is quoted after the free audit, once we know what actually needs doing. We keep scopes focused rather than selling packages, terms are month-to-month, and ad spend is separate and paid directly to Google from your own account.

Do you require a long-term contract?

No. Engagements are month-to-month. If the numbers stop working for you, you can stop, and you keep every account and asset we built.

Can you guarantee rankings or a number of leads?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. We commit to disciplined execution, tracking that ties spend to booked jobs, and honest reporting, including when something is not working.

Do you work with contractors outside North Carolina and Texas?

Yes. We work with home service companies across the United States. North Carolina and Texas are where we concentrate our market research, not a limit on who we work with.

Will I be working with an account manager?

No. You work directly with the team doing the work, so questions get answered by someone who knows your account.

Do you work with competing companies in the same area?

We do not take on two directly competing companies in the same market for the same service. If we already work with a competitor of yours, we will tell you rather than take the meeting.
